Baseboard is part of a Forced Hot Water (FHW) heating system. This type of heat is located along the base of a outside wall. Hot boiler water is circulated through copper or pex piping to the metal enclosure that has a copper and aluminum fin inside. Cooler air that flows along the floor is drawn to the baseboard, warmed and moved to the room by convection.
